What is hexahydrocannabinol HHC?

Many cannabis consumers know the most popular cannabinoids found in cannabis and hemp plants - THC and CBD. But the pleasure does not stop there: cannabis plants produce around 150 different cannabinoids, and scientists have even discovered ways to synthetically create cannabinoids that occur in small quantities in nature. One of these cannabinoids who received a lot of attention recently is hexahydrocannabinol, or HHC.

HHC is a new cannabinoide?

The HHC was discovered for the first time in 1944 by Roger Adams, an American organic chemist from the University of Illinois who helped to demystify the properties of cannabis after the government prohibited it in the 1930s. is also known to "discover" (isolate) and synthesize CBD, as well as synthesize THC and similar molecules, including HHC. Known for its effects similar to THC, HHC recently received increased demand due to flaws in legality.

How is HHC synthesize?

Hexahydrocannabinol, or HHC, is a derivative of the Delta-9 THC, a cannabinoid present in sativa cannabis plants. The name "hexa" comes from the fact that the compound is actually an isomer of tetrahydrocannabinoid. In its natural form, HHC is only found in the state of traces. Despite its small size, it produces effects similar to THC of the same name, although it is much softer in intensity.

Hexahydrocannabinol which has recently become popular. It is also known as HHC, semi-synthetic created in the laboratory by a process called hydrogenation. Hydrogenation is a chemical reaction which consists in the addition of a dihydrogen molecule (H2)

This process is similar to the transformation of margarine into vegetable oil, but requires a pressure container.

HHC is legal?

Sell, buy and use HHC is legal ... for now. Although it has existed technically for centuries, HHC has only been sold to consumers for a short time, so there is not (as for the CBD) of real set of rules governing its production and distribution.

As previously indicated, almost all HHC products on the market contain the form of HHC produced in the laboratory is derived from the CBD-which, conveniently, has been made legal as long as it contains 0.3 % or less of Delta-9 THC.

Since Tuesday, June 13, HHC, and two other derivatives (HHCO and HHCP) have been marked on the drug list, which makes their production, sale and use illegal.

According to companies selling these products, their operations are legal because the HHC is manufactured from CBD hemp and actually contains no THC. However, not everyone agrees with this. Some experts think that HHC is a violation of the law, which stipulates that any similar substance or chemically similar to an annex I or II drug will be treated as a drug from Annex I. Because HHC imitates THC , a substance of Annex I, under this theory, it should also be treated as an illegal substance of Annex I.

H4CBD cannabis to replace HHC: why it's an excellent alternative

The H4CBD is a cannabinoid derived from cannabis which has aroused great interest in the scientific and medical community. Unlike HHC, which is a synthetic derivative, the H4CBD is obtained from cannabis plants cultivated naturally. This compound has similarities with HHC in terms of power and effects, but it also offers several distinct advantages.

The advantages of H4CBD compared to HHC

  • Security and purity: The H4CBD is made from natural cannabis plants, which guarantees greater purity and reduces the risk of contaminants. Unlike HHC, which is synthesized in the laboratory, the H4CBD offers a safer alternative for consumers.
  • More targeted effects: The H4CBD has a molecular structure which allows it to specifically bind to cannabinoid receptors of the human body, thus offering more targeted and precise effects. This means that users can benefit from the therapeutic properties of cannabis without the unwanted side effects associated with HHC.
  • Legality: In many countries, HHC is considered an illegal substance because of its synthetic nature. On the other hand, the H4CBD, being derived from natural cannabis plants, is often regulated more flexible. This offers a legal and more accessible option for users who wish to explore the benefits of cannabis.

HHC Drug test?

HHC is therefore not THC. Even thus, confusion surrounding its legality has raised concerns as to whether it is presented for drug tests. While some users have anecdotally reported that HHC can avoid drug screening tests, there is no evidence to prove it so far.

In fact, "some studies indicate that HHC metabolites trigger Delta-9 drug tests", according to Herb. If you drive or are confronted with a cannabis test, you should be careful when it comes to using HHC.

Difference between THC and HHC

Compared to the Delta 9 THC, the HHC offers greater stability and a longer shelf life. It is also less sensitive to oxidation and heat. It is also resistant to UV light.

The HHC is not well studied, unlike the Delta 9. It is not known if it is safe for therapeutic use. However, Preliminary research suggests that HHC could have the same innocent profile as THC.

Unlike THC, which is naturally extracted from the cannabis plant, HHC is created by a process called hydrogenation. This process is similar to the process of transformation of vegetable oil into margarine. It does not require not the use of synthetic ingredients, but modifies the chemical structure of the cannabinoid to increase its affinity of connection.

While THC is generally produced with two double bonds in its upper cyclic structure, HHC does not have such a double bond. Instead, he has only one ring. It is not as stable as THC, the HHC has a similar power.

HHC may be broken down into the body differently from THC, but research on this subject is not yet completely established. It is believed that this change in the chemical structure of the cannabinoid can have led to the creation of a new medication with a different effect.

A 2007 study revealed that the HHC compound had anti-a-docking in mice. A 2011 study has revealed that HHC removes angiogenesis in cells breast cancer.

Danger of HHC?

There was no report on toxicity or the negative effects of HHC. And due to the lack of studies on HHC and its toxicology, the only option to ensure that HHC is sold with a laboratory test in order to ensure their purity and quality.

If you want to take HHC, the important thing to remember about hexahydrocannabinol is that the real advantages of this compound will probably be felt only in low doses.

Take too can be harmful and even cause side effects such as paranoia and inappropriate reactions
