CBD Vs Endocannabinoid System?

CBD Vs Endocannabinoid System?

If you've ever taken CBD, you know what a great product it is. However, if you've ever wondered how CBD works, it's a lot more complicated than you might think. It uses your endocannabinoid system, which regulates certain bodily functions. In this guide, we will provide you with important information about how CBD works in your body.

Discovery of the endocannabinoid system

We already know a lot about how the endocannabinoid system (ECS) works. But this has not always been the case.

The discovery of the ECS is the work of two chemists named Lumit Hanus and William Devon. In 1992, these two chemists isolated the endocannabinoid in the brain.

They discovered that the brain naturally produces cannabinoids , which play an important role in certain bodily functions.

This in turn has led to the identification of the different roles it plays in our brain functions. It also paved the way to help determine the effects of cannabinoids, which gently bind to receptors.

The three main key components of the ECS are cannabinoid receptors, endocannabinoids, and metabolic enzymes. Each of these plays a unique role in how we process CBD, but the component we're going to focus on are the cannabinoid receptors.

CANNABINODE RECEPTORS

The two main cannabinoid receptors are CB1 and CB2. However, these are not the only cannabinoid receptors we have, but they are the most studied. The most common receptors in the ECS are the CB1 receptors, which interact the most with THC and CBD.

Cannabinoids such as CBD interact with many CB1 and CB2 receptors in our brain, just like THC.

The biggest difference, however, is that CBD binds lightly to these receptors, while THC actually binds to the receptors. This is what causes THC intoxication, but also what does not cause CBD intoxication.

A lesser known fact about CBD is that it can potentially induce the paranoid feeling that some people feel when consuming THC.

We're not saying CBD will make you feel less intoxicated, but it can help balance the intoxication.

When some people take too much THC, they may suddenly feel out of control or paranoid. This is why more and more people are turning to CBD to help relieve this effect.

The entourage effect

When 2 cannabinoids interact with each other, this is called the entourage effect. Also, it can include certain terpenes that can enhance the user experience.

For example, when a person consumes too much THC, it can make them paranoid or anxious. However, taking CBD can lead to an entourage effect which can contribute to a better experience. There is still a lot to discover about the entourage effect, but try it for yourself. The next time you take too much THC, try balancing it out with some CBD and notice the environmental effect that takes place.

What is CBD isolate and why should you avoid it?

Although all CBD comes from hemp or the cannabis plant, there are some extremely important differences between the different types of CBD products available.

How CBD is grown, refined, and bottled by a company plays an important role in the quality of CBD and the results you can expect when taking CBD. There are three main types of CBD oil on the market: full-spectrum CBD, broad-spectrum CBD, and CBD isolate.

What is CBD isolate?

Simply put, CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD because all other cannabinoids are removed during the refining process. This way consumers get a product that is just a cannabinoid and nothing else.

While it may sound good at first glance, CBD is not a compound that does well on its own, separate from its related cannabinoids. If you haven't already, read our blog on the entourage effect to better understand the science behind the bioavailability of CBD in your body.

CBD isolate?

CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD, with the highest potency of all CBD categories. This whitish crystalline compound offers the best perceived CBD value per milligram (mg) and is often the best base form of CBD to formulate products for a wide range of conditions.

Because CBD isolate does not contain the terpenes and flavonoids of other cannabinoids, it is odorless and tasteless. Many people seek out a CBD isolate because of its supposed purity - the problem is that they accept that "pure CBD" is stronger or even better for you. When CBD is refined to produce the ultimate isolated CBD, it loses many of its natural and vital elements, leaving consumers with an incredibly weakened version of CBD.

CBD is divided into three main categories:

  • Full Spectrum CBD: Full Spectrum CBD is generally derived from the cannabis plant and contains 100% of the original cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids, including THC but with a level below 0.2% with no high and legal effect. Although it is generally accepted that the full spectrum of CBD has the highest bioavailability to the body, the presence of THC does not make CBD stronger, but merely enhances its effect.
  • Broad-spectrum CBD: Broad-spectrum CBD usually comes from the hemp plant and is therefore guaranteed not to exceed the legal THC limit. Broad-spectrum CBD has been lab tested to have an ND (undetectable) of THC, which means it contains 100% of the original cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids, with the exception of THC, which is not not here.
  • CBD isolate : CBD isolate is pure CBD and therefore does not contain the other important spectrum elements that your body needs to perform better.

Why Avoid CBD Isolate?

While there are plenty of reasons to add CBD to your daily routine, cheap CBD isolate won't give you the same benefits as broad-spectrum CBD oil.

If you're worried about the legality of CBD / drug testing, you can rest assured that Broad Spectrum and Full Spectrum CBD is 100% legal in most countries and extremely beneficial for your body's natural processes. .

However, if you live in a country where THC is allowed, such as Switzerland (1% thc) Italy (0.5% thc) and 50 states in the United States, you can try a product with a full range of CBD /THC.

CBDtech does not sell CBD:THC as we are committed to following all French laws to ensure that every time you buy CBD from us you can be sure it is safe, legal and effective.

In conclusion

Much of what we know about CBD today is due to the discovery of the endocannabinoid system (ECS). This includes how CBD interacts with certain receptors and the other components that make up this system.

Thanks to this, we were able to discover how CBD can help achieve a more balanced ECS. Now that you know a little more about how CBD works, you should consider giving it a try!

Warning : with globalization, it is very easy today to buy CBD anywhere in the world, however it is important to monitor these different points:

  • The THC level is different depending on the country, be aware that if you buy products with a THC level greater than 0.2% you are in possession of an amazing product!
  • Check the content of cannabinoids including thc by checking the certificates of third-party laboratories in order to be legal
  • Never buy in countries like China or India which have different agricultural standards with risks for your health
  • Buy from a trusted partner who can answer all your questions and provide third-party lab certificates.
